EASVOLEE – Effects on Air quality of Semi-VOLatile Engine Emissions

EASVOLEE participation at the European Aerosol Conference (EAC2024) in Tampere, Finland

In the end of August (25.08 – 30.08.2024), several EASVOLEE partners participated in EAC2024 through various oral and poster presentations.

Moreover, EASVOLEE co-organized a special session on Oxidative Potential of Aerosol Particles and Health Risks (related to its WP3). The conveners of the EAC session were Pourya Shahpoury, Athanasios Nenes, and Daniele Contini. The session included talks on the mechanisms by which aerosols interact with environmental factors and human health, the impact of oxidative stress due to aerosols on respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, and measurement techniques for quantifying the oxidative potential of particulate matter and its components.

Furthermore, FORTH researchers (Andreas Aktypis, Stella E. Manavi and Maria Georgopoulou) presented their work in various EAC2024 sessions.

Finally, the EAC2024 conference provided a valuable platform to connect with other academic research groups and industry experts and to discuss air quality and sustainable technologies disseminating the first EASVOLEE findings.
