As one of Europe\u2019s leading scientific events in the field of geosciences and atmospheric research, EGU2026 provided an important platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and dissemination of innovative research.<\/p>\n<p>A key highlight of this year\u2019s participation was the EASVOLEE-themed special session:<br \/>\n<strong>AS3.32: Transport and Urban Air Quality: Characterization and Monitoring of Real-World Emissions, Impacts on Health, and Mitigation Strategies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This session was co-organised by EASVOLEE together with the MI-TRAP, AEROSOLS, and Net4Cities projects, bringing together experts from across Europe to discuss the latest advances in transport emissions research and urban air quality.<br \/>\nThe session featured interdisciplinary contributions spanning both experimental and modelling approaches, addressing emissions from multiple transport sectors. Particular attention was given to emerging sources of pollution, including non-exhaust emissions and microplastics, as well as the atmospheric transformation of pollutants and their impacts on climate and public health.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1730 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.easvolee.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/egu2026_2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"2463\" height=\"2541\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.easvolee.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/egu2026_2.png 2463w, http:\/\/www.easvolee.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/egu2026_2-291x300.png 291w, http:\/\/www.easvolee.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/egu2026_2-993x1024.png 993w, http:\/\/www.easvolee.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/egu2026_2-768x792.png 768w, http:\/\/www.easvolee.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/egu2026_2-1489x1536.png 1489w, http:\/\/www.easvolee.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/egu2026_2-1985x2048.png 1985w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2463px) 100vw, 2463px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>EASVOLEE consortium partners made a significant scientific contribution to the session with six presentations (both oral and poster), showcasing the project\u2019s latest research results, methodologies, and policy-relevant findings.<\/p>\n<p>Participation in EGU2026 reflects EASVOLEE\u2019s commitment to advancing scientific understanding of transport-related air pollution and supporting the transition toward cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable urban mobility systems across Europe. We sincerely thank all contributors, organisers, speakers, and attendees for making the session a success. The EASVOLEE team already looks forward to continuing the dialogue and returning next year.
